Friday Dlog: Cats and Dogs
Today I introduce Miss Luna!
She’s our psychotic, Friday the 13th, black cat. We call her Loony for short. She was a stray kitten who we adopted from the shelter. Did you know that people rarely adopt black cats? So sad. They said she has poor social skills and when we brought her home she hid under the couch for three days.
Now she is out and about and seems very social and affectionate. She seems to want to play with the dogs and make friends. The dogs, however, are unsure of her….to say the least. Pancho acts like she’s a squirrel and Loca either tries to hump her or bite her.
Sake would have been so upset that we got a cat, and I can’t help but feel a little guilty. Pancho wants to snack on her and Loca is certain that Luna is trying to take her place in the family. It’s a mess.
I think I’m a natural counselor with kids…but pets are different. I don’t know how to make everyone get along.
But I’m trying.
It’s slowly getting better, though, and it’s only been a week. It’s been fun, actually.
We are very excited to have a cool kitty around the house and a new sources of joy.
I hope that Pancho, Loca and Luna will eventually become best friends. For now they remain mortal enemies!
A video of a typical interaction between the two crazies.
Have you had any experience trying to make cats and dogs become besties? Hints? Tips?
