Feeling the love

I want to start by congratulating the winner of the Joyful Jewelry Giveaway, Rian @ Truth and Cake!  I let Matt do the actual drawing and was really excited to see him pull Rian’s name, as she is one of the first bloggers I started following.  Congrats, Rian!  Love ya!

I’ve decided that giveaways are so much fun, and that I need to do more of them.  It is true what they say, that it’s better to give than to receive.  I feel like I have been on the receiving side a bunch lately. I won a giveaway, gained a handful of new followers, celebrated a one-year blogiversary, and was nominated for the Leibster Award–not once, but THRICE!  Thrice in the same week, 3 bloggers reached out and nominated me as a blogger who is kind, endearing, and beloved.

I’m not good at receiving praise and awards.  For example, if someone says to me, “Wow, those jeans look great on you!”  I would normally respond, “Oh, these are my fat pants, they’re just old and ugly and stupid….but thanks!”  I hear my mom’s voice in my head, “Just say ‘thank you’!”  I’m working on this you guys, I promise.  So I will just say “thank you so very much” to these wonderful bloggers.
