Thank You, Jackson Hole
We went to Jackson Hole with some great friends over Labor Day weekend. It was a lot of fun and provided a much needed get-out-of-town-fix. It’s funny, I’d never been before and it’s only about a four hour drive from Bozeman. I’m happy we finally made it there. Out of the 200-some photos I took, I’ve narrowed it down to a much, more healthy 20-some.
After the tram, we went into town and did some touristy stuff, like…

I’m slightly ashamed to admit that we went and had ‘wild west’ photos taken. Don’t judge us, though, it was SUPER fun.
After sliding, we went for a scenic drive.
On our last night in Jackson, we went out for dinner at the Rendezvous Bistro, which I HIGHLY recommend. The service was sharp and delightful. The food was excellent and well-priced. The atmosphere was cozy and mellow. Go there, do it.
On our last morning in Jackson Hole, we went for a hike. We thought it was about 6 miles, but ended up being more like 9. Big deal, what’s an 3 extra miles, right? Wrong. I almost died. We didn’t have enough water, provisions, or sunscreen. Luckily, the beauty of nature was energizing and totally made up for our lack of preparation.
We saw a bit of wildlife along the way; luckily no bears.
What did you do to celebrate Labor Day and the end of Summer?
XO, Tobi

The whole time I am scrolling I am all, “oooooo pretty mountains”. Drool.
They had the same effect on me, Becca. I totally understand the drooling!
Gorgeous photos, Tobi! Thanks for taking us along. The fun and relaxation of your weekend really shines through your images, and those mountains…ridiculous. But, I have to ask, what IS that creepy, crawly thing?
Rian, I was thinking of you the whole time we were there! I was toting my awkward camera around, and my iphone, constantly seeking the best photo-opp….It would have been a relief to just relax and not think of what would make a great photo. I WILL try this sometime, you have inspired me.
That creepy, fuzzy, little guy is some type of caterpillar! We have them here in MT and I’ve always loved them, and, oddly, I’ve never been afraid of them!
Such a pretty place! A 9 mile hike? I would have nearly died as well. I saw you got some sun on your cheeks-hope you didn’t burn too bad. What a nice getaway!
I did burn my nose pretty good! It has been peeling
It was totally worth it, though.
After this post I feel like I need to move there… it’s gorgeous! I’m glad you had a good time and thanks for sharing your photos.
I wanted to move there as well, until I went downtown and saw the mass crowds of tourists! But it is a great place to visit, if you get the chance
Love these photos – we certainly live in a beautiful part of the country. Thanks for posting these… I spent my Labor Day weekend working this year
At least I can live vicariously through you!
I just love living where I live…So blessed
I have had to work many holidays and I always feel so cheated! I feel for you!
Just beautiful country … my favorite (and it was hard to pick) was the light dancing off of Jenny Lake – magical!
What a fun weekend
What did we do? Went out for drinks with friends, had breakfast with my FIL, cooked, cleaned & watched College Football, played with Grandbabies and read a book — outside. A wondrous weekend that feels too long ago now
MJ
It is tough to pick a favorite when every shot looks like a postcard! Your weekend sounds blissful in a mellow, cozy sort of way
Thanks for sharing.
Those pictures are breathtaking. I’m sure it was even more spectacular in person. You’ve just put Jackson Hole on my radar, Tobi and for that I thank you. By the way, your hair still looks great!
That’s the thing about photos (at least most photos), they just can’t capture the beauty and majesty of certain places…but we still try! Thanks for noticing my hair! It feels like it’s getting really poofy this week :-/
Tobi, we missed each other by a mere week! My boyfriend and I were hiking Jenny Lake the following weekend! It looks like you did a bit more in JH than we got to. We were only in Jackson for a half-day, unfortunately. But we did spend some time in Grand Tetons which was great. I secretly love those kitschy wild west photos too! Screw everyone else.
Darn it! We could have had a blog-buddy lunch or something! That would have been fun. The wild west photos are definitely a guilty pleasure.
Such fun pictures!!! That lemon meringue pie looks incredible!
It was AWESOME. I was sad that I had to share it with everyone, but they only had one left.
Looks like this was a wonderful time! And your photos are INCREDIBLE!
Thank you! It was fun. Oddly, I’m already ready for another vacation!
