Thank You, Jackson Hole

We went to Jackson Hole with some great friends over Labor Day weekend.  It was a lot of fun and provided a much needed get-out-of-town-fix.  It’s funny, I’d never been before and it’s only about a four hour drive from Bozeman.  I’m happy we finally made it there.  Out of the 200-some photos I took, I’ve narrowed it down to a much, more healthy 20-some.

Just before getting on the tram to go up to 10,000 (plus) feet.

View from the tram.

View from the top of the Tetons, looking down on the valley and the Snake River.

Signature self-portrait from the top, of course.

Thank you for the love, Tetons.

After the tram, we went into town and did some touristy stuff, like…

I made out with a bronze grizzly bear.

We got snuggly with Al.

I’m slightly ashamed to admit that we went and had ‘wild west’ photos taken. Don’t judge us, though, it was SUPER fun.

Had a (stiff!) beverage at the Silver Dollar.

We rode a chair lift up, to ride the alpine slide back down.

It was almost an adrenaline rush.  Almost.

After sliding, we went for a scenic drive.

Aren’t they magnificent?

On our last night in Jackson, we went out for dinner at the Rendezvous Bistro, which I HIGHLY recommend.  The service was sharp and delightful.  The food was excellent and well-priced.  The atmosphere was cozy and mellow.  Go there, do it.

Lemon meringue pie//dot game on the table with crayons//with good friends….BLISS.

On our last morning in Jackson Hole, we went for a hike.  We thought it was about 6 miles, but ended up being more like 9.  Big deal, what’s an 3 extra miles, right?  Wrong.  I almost died.  We didn’t have enough water, provisions, or sunscreen.  Luckily, the beauty of nature was energizing and totally made up for our lack of preparation.

Jenny Lake–which we hiked around, entirely.

We saw several waterfalls.

Is this view even legal?!

The guys had a beer at Inspiration Point, maybe not the healthiest choice.

Why they call it Inspiration Point.

We saw a bit of wildlife along the way; luckily no bears.

I smell cookies.

We came upon a young buck, kneeling in the forest. He wasn’t very concerned with us.

My favorite creepy crawly thing in the world.

Thank you, JH for a blissful weekend.

What did you do to celebrate Labor Day and the end of Summer?

XO, Tobi
